I am authorised to solemnise legal marriages recognised by the Registrar General for Scotland anywhere in Scotland through the Open Sanctuary belief body. I offer Non-Religious, Semi-Religious, and Religious Ceremonies and it’s an honour and privilege to marry couples. While I charge a fee, it simply covers my time, travel, and associated costs. I do not make a profit from solemnising marriages.
At the heart of my work is a deep respect for all beliefs. I embrace them with an open heart, fostering simplicity, peace, and love. I design each ceremony around your love story, ensuring it reflects your personal beliefs and values, whether religious or non-religious.
The Marriage (Scotland) Act 1977:
I am aligned with this Act, which ensures celebrants are not in the business of solemnising marriages for profit. The fees I charge are necessary to support my work and reflect my beliefs.
Costs:
Here’s a breakdown of my ceremony packages:
- Gift Ceremony: For couples experiencing health or financial difficulties, I offer a gift ceremony to make your special day as easy and meaningful as possible (free).
- Simple Ceremony: A no-fuss option covering all the legal requirements with a respectful and straightforward approach. Simple, yet meaningful.
- Personalised Ceremony: Here, we dive into your love story and what marriage means to you. We can include readings, poems, a handfasting, a sand ceremony, or even a Quaich toast once you’ve signed the dotted line.
- Full Ceremony Package: Everything in the Personalised Ceremony, plus bespoke poems, readings, or prayers tailored to you. This also allows your family and friends to be involved, whether through sharing wisdom or participating in meaningful rituals.
Please note: Additional mileage charges may apply for locations beyond Glasgow or Fife. I’m happy to travel far and wide to deliver your ceremony anywhere in Scotland (or beyond)!

Marriage Law in Scotland:
For your marriage to be recognised legally in Scotland, you must also complete the M10 forms at a Registry Office at least three months prior to your ceremony, but no later than 29 days before. Please follow National Records Scotland guidance when registering your marriage. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me!

If you’re okay with me using your ceremony pictures for promotional purposes, great! If not, just let me know within 14 days of booking.
Respect My Creative Work:
Your ceremony script is crafted with love, and I ask that you refrain from sharing or reproducing it without permission.
Mum’s the Word:
Your secrets are safe with me. I won’t spill the beans without your say-so (Data Protection Regulations Act 2018).
Insurance and Professional Affiliation:
I’m a proud member of the Scottish Independent Celebrants Association (SICA) and carry insurance up to £1,000,000 for anything that might go awry.
