How can I help?
Yes. My authority to solemnise legal marriages comes under the auspices of the Circle of Contemplative Living. Through this belief organisation I am authorised by the Registrar General for Scotland to conduct legal wedding ceremonies anywhere in Scotland.
The Circle of Contemplative Living is rooted in values of openness, compassion, simplicity, peace, and love. It honours people of all beliefs and backgrounds, encouraging reflection, authenticity, and meaningful connection. In keeping with these values, each ceremony I create is shaped around the couple themselves — their story, their beliefs, and what marriage means to them — allowing space for both depth and joy in a way that feels genuine and inclusive.
I am based in Kingsbarns, Fife, but I regularly travel across Tayside, Glasgow, Edinburgh and the West Coast of Scotland. I am happy to travel to your chosen venue or outdoor location within these regions.
Yes! I offer funeral and wedding training courses for aspiring celebrants. My training combines heart-led creativity with practical expertise to help you deliver unforgettable ceremonies with confidence.
Yes — there is a difference, and to be clear, I am a celebrant, not a Humanist.
A celebrant, more broadly, is someone who creates and leads personalised ceremonies to mark important moments in life — such as weddings, funerals, naming ceremonies, and other milestones. Celebrants can come from a variety of belief backgrounds or belief organisations, and their approach can range from non-religious to spiritual, interfaith, or belief-based.
A Humanist celebrant is trained and accredited by a Humanist organisation and conducts ceremonies from a humanist perspective, which is non-religious and centred on human values, ethics, and lived experience.
In Scotland, some celebrants — including Humanist celebrants and those from certain belief organisations — are authorised by the Registrar General for Scotland to conduct legally binding marriages. Others may lead meaningful symbolic ceremonies, with the legal paperwork completed separately through a registrar.
As a celebrant with the Circle of Contemplative Living, my approach is inclusive and reflective, welcoming people of all beliefs or none. The focus is always on creating a ceremony that feels authentic to the couple — their story, their values, and the way they wish to mark the moment.
Spiritual direction, or accompaniment, is about walking alongside someone on their unique spiritual journey. It is inspired by the Celtic idea of Anam Cara, which means “soul friend” — someone who offers presence, listening, and gentle encouragement. It’s not advice or instruction, but a safe, welcoming space to explore what moves you and how you connect with the sacred in your own life.
Absolutely. I specialise in ceremonies that center your specific story, values, and style. My goal is to guide you through the process with warmth and authenticity so the ceremony feels uniquely “you.”

Yes. I am a proud Associate Member of the Scottish Independent Celebrant Association (SICA). I work to the highest industry standards and hold public liability insurance for all my ceremonies.
No. I offer both non-religious and religious ceremonies and value each person’s beliefs, whatever they may be. My focus is on creating meaningful, personal experiences and supporting people in exploring connection, purpose, and the sacred in ways that feel right for them. My work is guided by the values of the Circle of Contemplative Living: honouring grace, living humbly, and love.
I offer both non-religious and religious ceremonies, including funerals, weddings, vow renewals, baby namings, and celebrations of life. Each ceremony is tailored to your beliefs, values, and personal story.
I recommend contacting me as soon as you have a date in mind. This ensures we have plenty of time to explore your wishes and craft a ceremony that truly reflects you.
Ceremonies can be held anywhere meaningful to you – indoors, outdoors, or at a special venue. I am happy to travel across Scotland to bring your ceremony to life.
