Celebrant Training

I first met Cate as she was recommended to me by an experienced funeral celebrant in London (her reputation is nationwide!) and I undertook funeral celebrant training with her some 18 months ago. I found her training an excellent mix of the formal and technical, and the very practical, with some top tips.

Over the last 12 months, I have performed some 20 funeral services, which is plenty for me as I currently have a full-time job and this is a side line for me, at the moment. And I felt fully prepared and able to deal with the many things that come up during the course of preparing and delivering a funeral service.

More recently, I have decided to explore performing wedding ceremonies. I immediately thought of Cate as the person to train with. I have only just finished my training, but again found Cate’s style, flexibility and the experience she could bring to our sessions invaluable. I was pleased that, again, her training didn’t just concentrate solely on the service, but also included legislation and particularly, how to get business. And it was a lot of fun – I enjoyed the training sessions!

I first spoke with Cate in July 2022. We had a zoom call initially, where Cate took time to explain the whole training process and answer my questions. She didn’t pressure me to sign up for training but left it very much up to decide if I was ready to do so. I decided to go ahead and that was a great decision!

Cate provides a comprehensive training package, has a lovely warm manner when delivering it and was also very honest about exactly what is involved in becoming a funeral celebrant. Cate has a great approach and teaching style and I feel grateful for how much I learned from her. As part of the training, I was also able to attend a funeral that Cate was delivering which was very worthwhile.

Since qualifying, I’ve conducted a large volume of services and have had the reassurance of still being able to contact Cate if I’ve had any questions or concerns. I can’t recommend Cate highly enough – she is excellent at what she does – both the training and the delivery of funeral services.
